Slavery
Since the beginning of human war there has been human slavery. All great ancient empires had slaves and legal slavery continued even up to 1981 when the Saharan country, Mauritania, made it illegal, the only country at the time which had no laws against it. Even then it was still practiced, only the government tried to hide it. In the beginning, ships of slaves would sale from Africa to the Colonies. These slaves were taken from their home and often treated very poorly. Many times the people onboard would starve to death and usually only the able-bodied would survive the journey. These things have changed though. It took a couple of centurys to happen but it did after many lives were lost for and against slavery. The United States of America is a nation which has fought for the right of freedom since in the Revolutionary War and the Civil War. In the Revolutionary War the slavery of African Americans was used as a weapon by both the British and the Colonists. The Civil War was fought for the freedom of African Americans and split the country into two. Slavery in the USA only had consisted of only black or "negro" people and has caused racism against black people ever since. (Below is a video about slavey in the USA)
